Kids say the darndest things

February 13, 2009 merrittmadness

Have you ever wish you could read your children’s minds in hopes that you might just be able to stop them from saying something that will cause you to want to slide under a table and die?

Well just today my sweet little Sammie and Izzie came with me to Kassie and Abbie’s class to help with the Valentine’s party at school and they were behaving them selves when Sammie opens her mouth, and not in her quite voice, says, “Oh mommy she has a big bum.”

And as she is speaking I realize where she’s going with her sentence and tried to stop her with out causing a scene. But to my humiliation out it came. And for thoughts of you who know how loud she speaks, stop laughing and join me under the table of embarrassment.

And although the other mom is larger than my self, I quickly and quietly explained to dear sweet Sammie that  when she talks about people like that it can hurt her feelings. Sammie seemed to understand and look like she felt bad.

Okay you can go back to laughing know.

Oh, totally! Ben once stood up and cheered and clapped his hands after a musical number during Sacrament meeting. It’s just a matter of time before he starts saying things in public that make us want to crawl into our little hole and not come out. :) Thanks for sharing.
